Louisianna Parish Marriages

(If you download a  batch where there are dual principals and they cannot add a record, please  return the batch and download another.  The project is saturated right now, so it may be a few minutes.)

US Texas Naturalization batches

ARBITRATORS;  A problem with the US Texas Naturalization Records has been reported.  The information in Key A is being removed.  If you experiance this type of issue, could you please  hold the batches for now until further notice. Hopefully it will be fixed before they expire on your computer. Updates will be posted when that takes place.

Vermont Passenger lists

Vermont- we need to be really cautious on this project, Some new updates are being created for it.  What may appear to be the passenger's ages are actually the weight of their baggage, again.  Becareful!!

There was a program issue that caused the parents names to be in the hidden fields option. Many of these batches were returned for re-indexing because there was no place to enter the names. ARBITRATORS:   PLEASE DO NOT return these for re-indexing, just add the parent's names as YOU arbitrate. If you have a question please contact  your Stake Indexing Director.

Essex Parish Registers- the field helps for the bride and grooms names have been changed to state NOT to index street names. We will be changing the how to on the wiki and project updates.

Muster Rolls- if the soldiers are stationed on a ship type the complete ship name. As an example Essex and USS Essex are two very different places. An update will be added to the update page as soon as the examples can be found and posted..

 Jamaica Deaths and Marriages- there is an update on the wiki saying to mark the death field as blank if it is unreadable rather than using the registration date.  On part C the rules have changed and we would use the registration date if the death date is unreadable.  This could cause some interesting arbitration situations as what is unreadable to one, may not be to another.  We will do the best we can.  The update is going to be removed.

Philippines Batches

Philippines- when a register is cut into two segments, with the parent's name in one batch and the child's in another- index the information in the batch that you have-it will be combined later.

Indexing and MAC computers

Indexers  some important information: We do not support Mac OS 10.5 or previous. Said differently, we require Mac OS 10.6 or later to use indexing.

Illinois Adams co death project

On the Illinois Adams co death project- the engineers are working on fixing the year/month fields to not go to quality check.   There is some system glitch.

Canada New Brunswick Provincial Marriages

Canada New Brunswick Provincial Marriages-if there is no certificate number, index the registration number.

Texas Marriages project and batches

 On the Texas Marriages: Indexers, if you encounter the terms FMC or FWC adjacent to the names please index the terms into the "Title and Terms" field. The form does not have a race field. The terms relate to "Free Man of Color" or Free Women of Color" so we are  to index FMC and FWC in Title and Terms.

Indiana and Iowa Marriages projects

New  Instructions: 6-14-13, On the Indiana Wayne Co. Marriages and the US, Iowa Marriages we are to treat each image in these two projects as stand alone images. We are not to combine the images on these projects.

Georgia Death project

There has been some confusion on the Georgia Death project in the Place of Birth field- Follow the Field Helps. Type exactly what is on the document, including Co, Conty, County, etc.  An update is being added to the wiki.

Iowa Marriages Batches

There are different, individual documents, that relate to the same marriage. These documents may be filed on separate, successive images. In these cases each image is to be indexed as a separate record even though they may relate to the same marriage.
